My circle of friends are all quite similar to me in the sense that they are from different backgrounds, grew up all over the world, have moved around cities and countries, and some of the attributes I love about them most is that they are adventurous, open minded, creative, and with what I consider a great eye for beauty. I think it is just natural to gravitate towards people with similar interests, and likes I guess. RYBELO is the beautiful Jewelry brand of a dear friend of mine, we met through a mutual friend when I lived in Madrid for a few months back in 2009! Milena and I instantly clicked, and we also lived shortly in Barcelona at the same time, before I got married and moved to DC. But we have always maintained our friendship, staying in touch and trying to meet whenever we can. She always had exquisite style, and a great eye for design, which is no surprise that she ended up creating her baby RYBELO, and designing beautiful pieces as the ones I am wearing in this post. Her story is truly inspiring, as she left behind a dream job in advertising to pursue a passion, and learned everything about jewelry design from the bottom to the top. I am truly picky when it comes to jewelry, just as I am I guess in everything else, but jewelry is not something I indulte myself often and when I do I like to take my time and research and find the pieces that truly speak to me so I can wear them on a day to day basis to express who I am at the moment. I also now as a mother keep in mind the fact that I will pass it on to my daughters, so I have to find the timeless pieces! With RYBELO I can truly testify that these pieces are not only timeless, but their quality and price are just what we bling addicts need:) I hope you enjoy the pieces I picked to wear and treasure, and do check out the collection it is truly beautiful. So proud of you Milena! Besos
Does time fly for you guys as fast as it does for me? I am not complaining, on the contrary I cannot wait for September to arrive;) In the meantime I am enjoying the summer weather (before it get’s humid and unbearable). I enjoy dresses, gold accents to my looks, the summer breeze, ice cream, watermelon, outdoor sittings, seeing friends and family, the kicks in my belly that keep getting stronger, and Carbs! Yes I am indulging in carbs, because I (like probably some of you), have been carb deprived since my mid teenage years, so now it’s a carb party for me till this baby arrives:) Which is why I get comfy pieces to wear, like this Asos striped mini bandeau dress, with a touch of summer gold by layering Rachelle Celine’s necklaces and stacking her subtle and romantic rings!
I can’t believe how time flies, I woke up this morning and realized it’s the end of May and I’m 21 weeks, which means (amongst many other things) that in a few days I turn a year older (31), and this year (age) will be forever magical in my heart, with our little one on the way:) But it also means that I have ALL summer ahead of me as a pregnant lady, in other words, HEAT, HUMIDITY, water retention, swollen ankles, you know the usual (help), so I am walking as much as I can, drinking loads of water, eating tons of fruits, and trying to refrain from salty foods (though that one is very challenging)! Another way to prepare for this heat is of course to wear comfy and cute clothes, and I have officially become obsessed with dresses, nothing more comfy for me and my belly at the moment…So I leave you with this printed and colorful Asos dress, and jewelry (necklaces) by Rachelle Celine, and Crystal Ladder ring by Bauble Bar… AND tune in for the Hair tutorial for this easy, breezy and fun updo by Abigail de Casanova;) Hope you enjoy this look…
This weekend was filled with sunshine, long walks, quality time with friends/family, and a beautiful dinner Sunday evening with my hubby! For this Sunday dinner date, I decided to wear my new Asos Maternity tube skirt, finally a tube skirt I can wear comfortably in this pregnancy and I absolutely love how tightly it wraps around my hips (basically squeezing everything in hehe)!
To give it a little edge I styled it with red accents, and my new Rachelle Celine stack of rings! I am in love with this local designer’s jewelry, her pieces are timeless, romantic, and subtle, the perfect elements to add the final touch to any look you put together… Dinner was filled with talks about the future, and when the baby arrives, fantasy trips we might or might not take together, but most importantly how exciting (and a bit terrifying) our near future is:)!
Mother’s Day is just around the corner, and this year as every year it is about our amazing mother’s, but in a way I am already considering myself as a mother so it is that much more special to me! So I am sure you are all searching and researching and thinking of ways to surprise your moms, as well as your wives:) It can always be a little overwhelming finding the right gift for one of the most special person in our lives, which is why I am always on the look for sites or stores that offer us unique pieces, and a beautiful selection, but not overwhelming us with too many things! So when I found out about Uncommon Goods, I was truly excited, those of you who have been following me, by now you know how I love to support independent designers, and style my looks with unique pieces, and well simply find little gems that make me feel special, and that is exactly what you can find at Uncommon Goods.
They are based in Brooklyn, and their essence is all about giving designers a platform for creativity, and connecting those artists with us:) Most of their products are hand made here in the US, and their mission is to be environmentally friendly in everything from their own company to the materials used by the designers to create/handcraft their designs! So of course I had to get my hands on their Links of Love Necklace! And from this necklace I was inspired to create my Mother’s Day look, with this Raoul Primrose dress, and my Zara heels (who have been proven to be the most comfy heels in my pregnancy:)! Hope you like this look;)
