If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t please follow me, I promise to keep it as interesting as I can), you know that I am back in DC, and have been back for almost a month now! I took a mini break from social media and everything online because I always need those breaks to just enjoy the moment without being glued to my phone, and the online world! Jeff Shirel and I have been enjoying time with friends we hadn’t seen in a while, with family and simply our very own family time back in the US. See for someone like me born in the 80’s social media hasn’t always been in my life, for us it is something we watched happen and develop into a phenomenon right in front of our eyes, from having no phone until I was 16, to suddenly being able to have my whole life on this tiny screen it is a big change. Don’t get me wrong I love social media, my iPhone, the internet and the whole package, but I do need breaks from time to time to re-energyze, connect with myself and others around me, and of course for me as a mother it is a huge factor to not let my daughter grow up seeing me giving my devoted attention to my gadgets, because it is very true that kids learn by example. I know I am just going on and on about this but I just thought I would share with you all the reason I am not as active on the blog or on social media, because as a mother I have learned to take a few steps back! Not only with social media with shopping as well, but when I do find the right pieces I LOVE sharing it with you all, like this Zara dress! I bought it before flying to Ibiza in early July (that’s another post that will be coming up soon), and honestly I am going on to the 30th day of almost exclusively wearing this dress (Yes I do wash it over and over, and it still looks brand new). It is so comfortable, and so perfect for the steamy heat of DC, and it has the off the shoulder detail which is definitely my favorite trend for this summer (and probably for the rest of my summers). So if you are looking for that chic yet casual every day dress this is the one, and if you can’t find your size at Zara here is a great similar option for you ladies on Romwe.com! Besos and feel free to leave your comments here regarding the dress, or social media, or anything that feel like saying!
Barcelona is one of the most visited cities in the world, each year and especially during summer season the city welcomes a sea of tourists on a daily basis. I am proud to call Barcelona my city, not only because it is such a coveted city, but because I am truly in love with it’s beauty. By beauty I meanall it offers, from it’s architecture, it’s story, the beautiful beaches, mountains (Tibidabo, Montjuic), the weather, it’s restaurants and food, it’s shopping, and especially it’s Hotels that come with amazing rooftops and views of the city! So as you can imagine when I got invited by El Palauet for a staycation in their exclusive hotel, I was SO excited. El Palauet is not your normal hotel that you can stroll into the lobby and have a casual coffee or lunch, it is an exclusive space where you need to be let in after ringing the doorbell, and once you walk in you understand why it is Barcelona’s most unique and beautiful hotel. The building is an art nouveau building with a rooftop spa, El Palauet (original Casa Bonaventura Ferrer) hotel is home to chic centre-city suites with high ceilings, stained glass windows, bright-white furniture, and forty-five original ceilings with ornate moulding designs are listed as historic treasures by the Town Hall of Barcelona. Superb carved-wood doors, mosaic tiles, wrought iron ornamentation, dramatic staircases and the traditional elevator have all been meticulously restored. In an art nouveau building that dates back to 1906, each artistically designed suite also comes with a personal assistant with intimate knowledge of all of Barcelona’s barrios. The experience was just amazing, I have stayed in many hotels in Barcelona and while traveling, but this suite just took my breath away, I truly felt like it wasn’t just a hotel, but I could easily live in this suite, I mean wouldn’t we all want to? If you are planning a trip to Barcelona and are looking for that special experience El Palauet is without a doubt the perfect choice, it’s location is super, as it is right on Paseo de Gracia and Diagonal, not too far from Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, and Casa Batllo! Let me know if you have any other questions regarding Barcelona, and I can help you plan your trip, until then enjoy these pictures and remember El Palauet is definitely Barcelona’s best kept secret.

This train station holds many memories for me, specifically going back to 1993 when we moved from Barcelona to Antwerp, and we traveled with the train to Paris and from Paris to Antwerp. I will never forget my mom took me and my brothers to Zara and bought us all new outfits so we could be well dressed on the train, see my mom would always shop new outfits for us whenever we would travel anywhere, and that has stuck with me into my adulthood. And so here I am again at the same spot wearing an all Zara outfit, and yet so much has changed. I find it so amazing, and I don’t take it for granted because I am used to moving countries and cities ever since I am a little girl, some would say I am a Nomad and I would say probably so, and I love it. The thrill that comes with discovering new places, meeting new people, feeling out of place seeing things from another perspective, taking yourself out of your comfort zone, that is what life is about (to me). If you or anyone you know is planning a trip to Barcelona and would like to experience the city with my private tour, feel free to email me, email@example.com and I will personalize the tour with your likes and interests, so you can get the best out of this spectacular city! I will show you all the hidden gems that us locals know about, take you to try out the best tapas, cavas, get the best shopping experience and anything your heart desires! Besos and hope you enjoy this look as much as I do!
Hola lovelies, I apologize for not posting over a month, but I have been busy with Shirel (babygirl) being sick most of the time due to daycare, with work projects ( I am involved in interior design and branding of a new concept restaurant/bar, soon I will be sharing that as well on the blog). Jeff (my hubby) has arrived to Barcelona as well, so we are busy as a family, enjoying every spare moment together, which is why I have been really bad about posting on the blog but those of you who follow me on Instagram are up to date with everything I do from looks, to Barcelona spots, interior design, and in a week I will be traveling to Tel Aviv so stay tuned for that! I have also taken the big leap and am on SNAPCHAT you can find me as HAYATETROV, and you can follow me daily in Barcelona, and soon in Tel Aviv! Which brings me to this post and more that will follow up regarding Wedding Guest Looks, we are going to Tel Aviv for wedding parties (and many other parties that follow up the weddings)! Those of you that are feeling the wedding season coming upon you, I get it, it is a lot to think about, like what kind of wedding, the dress code, the “I wish I could wear white because all the spring summer dresses” I love are white kinda dilema, trust me I know! Which is why I wanted to share with all of you The 8th Sign, I found their designs while browsing online and searching for dresses. I instantly fell in love with their designs, the details on the dresses, and this particular dress I am wearing the green is so beautiful, it is so feminine, chic and bold, combinations that I personally adore. I haven’t been to wedding in a while, specifically since last July where I was still struggling a lot with my pregnancy weight and didn’t know what would look good on me or not, well guess what I still have 5 kilos ( almost 10 pounds) that win’t leave me alone, and I still am figuring out what cuts and materials go with my new more curvy self. The 8th Sign were kind to send me a few dresses to play dress up with and share with all of you, and the moment I tried them on they fit to perfection, you can also find their designs on Asos.com! I hope you love this green dress as much as I do, and please stay tuned for my next look coming this week, until then besos!

Eixample is the neighbourhood that personally to me screams out Barcelona in the most charming way, and of course it is where Paseo de Gracia is, and a few of Gaudi’s most marvellous pieces of art. It is a mixture of old and new Barcelona, transportan you to it’s origins with Markets, neighbourhood bars, stores, and needless to say it’s amazing architecture. Yet on the other hand you can find modern boutiques with up and coming designers, new restaurants with the most intricate interior designs, and spaces such as my new favourite chill out spot Wer-Haus. A space with a men’s shop, a coffee shop, and a little art gallery, all designed to minimalist perfection. I know I keep finding new places where I say that their coffee is amazing, but honestly the coffee here is fantastic, and I happen to have friends who are as passionate about coffee as much as I am so that helps when they tell me where to go! For this occasion as you can see I decided to dress up (with Louboutin’s for a business meeting, and then I dressed it down with white kickz for Wer-Haus chill out) in a little Spring look by Katarina Grey my favorite Barcelona designer, she is so talented and sweet which makes for the perfect combination. She is from Barcelona, but studied at Parsons, and I got to attend her first NYFW show a few years ago, and all I can say is I was in awe back then and I am even more in awe right now! When you enter her world you will never want to leave, it is filled with dramas, beauty and power, and that is all I feel when I wear her magical piece, please check her out and stay tuned as I will be sharing more of her collection, especially for wedding style because wedding season is just around the corner!
