Im wearing, KENZO x H&M tshirt in white & black, Zara Flared Flowy pants, Jimmy Choo Holly velvet platform heels, day look white leather converse, and jeans. Photography by Charlotte Van Den Berg Location Casa Gracia Barcelona

I still remember the first H&M collaborations, such as Karl Lagerfeld and Stella McCartney (some of my favorite designers), I lived in London at the time and madness arose everywhere! But this time for the Kenzo collaboration, in comparison with previous collaborations especially last year’s Balmain, there wasn’t chaos nor long crazy lines here in Barcelona. This year’s capsule collection was a more civilized scene than in previous years! Which is why I am glad I went in and snagged a few styles, like these two Tshirts. The one thing I will say is that the sizes for these are a bit big, there were only Small and Medium left no more XS by the time I got in, and the Small is more like a Medium. Here is how I styled a more casual day look with the White option, and the more evening look with the Black option. For the daily look I chose denim and my new white leather chucks, which are also a bit bigger in comparison to the canvas option, so I got a half a size smaller. For the evening look, I chose to pair it with these Zara flare pants, and my new Jimmy Choo velvet bordeaux platforms, which are so comfortable for the height that they have. PS those of you who follow me on Instagram were probably aware of my haircut, but for those who were not now you get to see it! It is a much needed change for my hair, and for my time management (taking care of long hair is time consuming when you have a toddler to care for:) I hope you like it!

The title of this post is all about my look, which is one of my favorite easy casual and feminine look to pull together, but for many reasons once I started writing this post I couldn’t help but think about Shirel, and all the love we have for her, so it turned out to be all about her:) Hope you enjoy it!

There is one phrase that as much as it sounds like a cliché I just cannot stop myself from saying it or thinking it! TIME FLIES! It truly does, it feels just like yesterday when we were in DC shooting this in the Shaw area and getting to know the neighbourhood, and now suddenly we are in Barcelona. Another thing that always amazes me it doesn’t matter how often I fly and how I have been a traveler since I was a little girl, non of it stops phasing me how I can be in one continent and within a few hours land in another one. It is quite amazing, and we are so lucky, and I feel so lucky that my husband signed up with me to live this life of traveling back and forth until Shirel is a little older and starts school. Some might call us crazy, but we love it, at times it gets hard but nothing worth it comes easy, and for us this is worth it, and a privilege that we get to share time with these two beautiful cities, with our families and friends on both continents. Come to think of it I have always wanted to live like this, maybe it’s my Gemini in me, or maybe it’s the nomad in me, I am used to moving around since I am 4 years old so after a while I tend to get anxious in one place, because I feel like there is so much to see and discover around the world. So yes even as a mother I tend to pick a different way, maybe not the mainstream but also not that strange or crazy, because guess what I am not that special and there are plenty of other families and people doing just the same or even more. Zadig & VoltaireGGGZadig & VoltaireWhich brings me back to how time flies, next week Shirel will turn 2 years old, and Jeff will turn 35 WOW I can’t believe it so much to celebrate. I met Jeff when he was about to turn 23 just a few days away from his birthday, I had just turned 21, we were so young and little did we know where life would take us together, and that October would be such a special month for us. Shirel turns 2, my baby is growing so fast, and I can barely keep up with her, she is so feisty and funny, with a stubborness to her that is exactly the right mix of her dad and me (we are quite stubborn the two of us), she is starting to boss around boys in her class (love that, I was NOT at all like her, and I love that she is like this), she still loves to dance and sing more than anything, she is convinced that the whole Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is her clique, she speaks three different languages within one sentence, she loves carbs, cheese and avocado (my favorite foods when I was pregnant and always), she loves dogs but is terrified to get near them, and she is sweet to everyone she meets, she gives the best hugs and she gives so much love! Shirel is everything I have ever dreamed of and more, I could not have asked for a more precious babygirl and I cannot wait to celebrate her for the rest of our lives! She is our Love, she is that pure love of two young 20 something year olds that met in Barcelona years ago, not looking for love but who happened to stumble upon it, she is the manisfestation of what was thought to be a love that would never happen, a relationship that was doomed from the beginning because of our very different cultures, despite all the hardships we grew stronger we got even closer with every struggle our love grew stronger until one day Shirel graced us with her love, and for her we have walked hand in hand these years to embrace her and to have her in our lives! Words can’t be said as to what she means to us, and we can’t wait to celebrate her birthday next week!Zadig & VoltaireShirelGGGGGGGGGGGG`

Ganni Trench Coat

Ganni Trench Coat

Photography by Dominique Fierro, location The Fairmont Hotel DC.

Wearing Ganni Trench Coat on sale on Lynn Louisa, and Revolve, Ganni Tunic on sale on Revolve, Converse white shoes.

As a little girl I remember my mother had this beautiful long nude trench coat by MaxMara, she wore a nude tone lipstick, and her hair was a warm almost honey color. That was my favorite look of hers, I dreamed of one day wearing that coat, and getting hightlights (that dream came true obviously hehe), and she still has that coat at home I just need to get it fitted on my body! But meanwhile here I am probably around the age she was, styling this beautiful Ganni trench coat with a Ganni tunic, from my favorite Georgetown boutique, Lynn Louisa. So as you can imagine when I first went to Lynn Louisa and saw this trench I fell head over heels, but not only with the trench with the store as a whole. I love all the brands they carry and the pieces they pick, it really is like my dream closet. Gabby (the owner) is so passionate about the brands she brings, she flies all the way to Denmark and LA amongst other places to hand pick all of her pieces, and it truly shows when you walk in there. Therefore I decided to partner with Gabby and show you a few of my favorite looks from her store, and this is the first one so make sure you stay tuned for more looks! Definitely make sure to visit Lynn Louisa if you are in DC, and right now they have up to 70% off! Another bonus reason to visit the shop, is that my amazingly talented, fun and funny (sometimes weird hehe) friend and photographer of this look and many more, Dominique Fierro is the residente artist of the boutique, and you can check out her art and buy it right there, I think we have covered enough reasons to visit this new Georgetown boutique.  I hope you love this look as much as I do, and hopefully it will five you some Fall inspiration. Ganni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench CoatGanni Trench Coat

Zara Summer Dress

Zara Dress

What Im wearing: Zara dress, similar dress on Romwe, Saint Laurent croc effect camera bag.

If you follow me on Instagram (and if you don’t please follow me, I promise to keep it as interesting as I can), you know that I am back in DC, and have been back for almost a month now! I took a mini break from social media and everything online because I always need those breaks to just enjoy the moment without being glued to my phone, and the online world! Jeff Shirel and I have been enjoying time with friends we hadn’t seen in a while, with family and simply our very own family time back in the US. See for someone like me born in the 80’s social media hasn’t always been in my life, for us it is something we watched happen and develop into a phenomenon right in front of our eyes, from having no phone until I was 16, to suddenly being able to have my whole life on this tiny screen it is a big change. Don’t get me wrong I love social media, my iPhone, the internet and the whole package, but I do need breaks from time to time to re-energyze, connect with myself and others around me, and of course for me as a mother it is a huge factor to not let my daughter grow up seeing me giving my devoted attention to my gadgets, because it is very true that kids learn by example. I know I am just going on and on about this but I just thought I would share with you all the reason I am not as active on the blog or on social media, because as a mother I have learned to take a few steps back! Not only with social media with shopping as well, but when I do find the right pieces I LOVE sharing it with you all, like this Zara dress! I bought it before flying to Ibiza in early July (that’s another post that will be coming up soon), and honestly I am going on to the 30th day of almost exclusively wearing this dress (Yes I do wash it over and over, and it still looks brand new). It is so comfortable, and so perfect for the steamy heat of DC, and it has the off the shoulder detail which is definitely my favorite trend for this summer (and probably for the rest of my summers). So if you are looking for that chic yet casual every day dress this is the one, and if you can’t find your size at Zara here is a great similar option for you ladies on Romwe.com! Besos and feel free to leave your comments here regarding the dress, or social media, or anything that feel like saying! Zara DressZara DressZara Dress

El Palauet, Barcelona’s most exclusive Hotel

El PalauetBarcelona is one of the most visited cities in the world, each year and especially during summer season the city welcomes a sea of tourists on a daily basis. I am proud to call Barcelona my city, not only because it is such a coveted city, but because I am truly in love with it’s beauty. By beauty I meanall it offers, from it’s architecture, it’s story, the beautiful beaches, mountains (Tibidabo, Montjuic), the weather, it’s restaurants and food, it’s shopping, and especially it’s Hotels that come with amazing rooftops and views of the city! So as you can imagine when I got invited by El Palauet for a staycation in their exclusive hotel, I was SO excited. El Palauet is not your normal hotel that you can stroll into the lobby and have a casual coffee or lunch, it is an exclusive space where you need to be let in after ringing the doorbell, and once you walk in you understand why it is Barcelona’s most unique and beautiful hotel. The building is an art nouveau building with a rooftop spa, El Palauet (original Casa Bonaventura Ferrer) hotel is home to chic centre-city suites with high ceilings, stained glass windows, bright-white furniture, and forty-five original ceilings with ornate moulding designs are listed as historic treasures by the Town Hall of Barcelona. Superb carved-wood doors, mosaic tiles, wrought iron ornamentation, dramatic staircases and the traditional elevator have all been meticulously restored.  In an art nouveau building that dates back to 1906, each artistically designed suite also comes with a personal assistant with intimate knowledge of all of Barcelona’s barrios. The experience was just amazing, I have stayed in many hotels in Barcelona and while traveling, but this suite just took my breath away, I truly felt like it wasn’t just a hotel, but I could easily live in this suite, I mean wouldn’t we all want to? If you are planning a trip to Barcelona and are looking for that special experience El Palauet is without a doubt the perfect choice, it’s location is super, as it is right on Paseo de Gracia and Diagonal, not too far from Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera, and Casa Batllo! Let me know if you have any other questions regarding Barcelona, and I can help you plan your trip, until then enjoy these pictures and remember El Palauet is definitely Barcelona’s best kept secret. El PalauetEl Palauet
