My circle of friends are all quite similar to me in the sense that they are from different backgrounds, grew up all over the world, have moved around cities and countries, and some of the attributes I love about them most is that they are adventurous, open minded, creative, and with what I consider a great eye for beauty. I think it is just natural to gravitate towards people with similar interests, and likes I guess. RYBELO is the beautiful Jewelry brand of a dear friend of mine, we met through a mutual friend when I lived in Madrid for a few months back in 2009! Milena and I instantly clicked, and we also lived shortly in Barcelona at the same time, before I got married and moved to DC. But we have always maintained our friendship, staying in touch and trying to meet whenever we can. She always had exquisite style, and a great eye for design, which is no surprise that she ended up creating her baby RYBELO, and designing beautiful pieces as the ones I am wearing in this post. Her story is truly inspiring, as she left behind a dream job in advertising to pursue a passion, and learned everything about jewelry design from the bottom to the top. I am truly picky when it comes to jewelry, just as I am I guess in everything else, but jewelry is not something I indulte myself often and when I do I like to take my time and research and find the pieces that truly speak to me so I can wear them on a day to day basis to express who I am at the moment. I also now as a mother keep in mind the fact that I will pass it on to my daughters, so I have to find the timeless pieces! With RYBELO I can truly testify that these pieces are not only timeless, but their quality and price are just what we bling addicts need:) I hope you enjoy the pieces I picked to wear and treasure, and do check out the collection it is truly beautiful. So proud of you Milena! Besos
Hola lovelies, I apologize for not posting over a month, but I have been busy with Shirel (babygirl) being sick most of the time due to daycare, with work projects ( I am involved in interior design and branding of a new concept restaurant/bar, soon I will be sharing that as well on the blog). Jeff (my hubby) has arrived to Barcelona as well, so we are busy as a family, enjoying every spare moment together, which is why I have been really bad about posting on the blog but those of you who follow me on Instagram are up to date with everything I do from looks, to Barcelona spots, interior design, and in a week I will be traveling to Tel Aviv so stay tuned for that! I have also taken the big leap and am on SNAPCHAT you can find me as HAYATETROV, and you can follow me daily in Barcelona, and soon in Tel Aviv! Which brings me to this post and more that will follow up regarding Wedding Guest Looks, we are going to Tel Aviv for wedding parties (and many other parties that follow up the weddings)! Those of you that are feeling the wedding season coming upon you, I get it, it is a lot to think about, like what kind of wedding, the dress code, the “I wish I could wear white because all the spring summer dresses” I love are white kinda dilema, trust me I know! Which is why I wanted to share with all of you The 8th Sign, I found their designs while browsing online and searching for dresses. I instantly fell in love with their designs, the details on the dresses, and this particular dress I am wearing the green is so beautiful, it is so feminine, chic and bold, combinations that I personally adore. I haven’t been to wedding in a while, specifically since last July where I was still struggling a lot with my pregnancy weight and didn’t know what would look good on me or not, well guess what I still have 5 kilos ( almost 10 pounds) that win’t leave me alone, and I still am figuring out what cuts and materials go with my new more curvy self. The 8th Sign were kind to send me a few dresses to play dress up with and share with all of you, and the moment I tried them on they fit to perfection, you can also find their designs on Asos.com! I hope you love this green dress as much as I do, and please stay tuned for my next look coming this week, until then besos!
Every year I have the same dilemma, finding a warmer coat than the one from last years! This year I wanted to find the right one, not only for the city but also for my ski trip (early 2014), it had to be warm, warm, very warm, but yet something that screamed cool;) After looking persistently online, in stores, magazines, (you know the drill), I finally found this Jennifer Chun Khaki parka, and knew I had to have it. Now I can brave the cold!
This look was totally and completely inspired by Parisian style, that effortless chic that makes us all be in awe of Parisian women and their style! For those of you who know me, you will know that Paris is one of my favorite cities, growing up in Antwerp spending many a summers getting on the train and traveling to Paris with my family created a special bond with the city. So when I met the designer behind Wai Ming, Emily in my visit to St.Louis and she told me she had lived in Paris and was inspired by it’s designers and Parisian style, it was (needless to say) an instant connection (amongst other similar interests:). Emily designs her Wai Ming pieces with these elements in mind Fresh, Light, and Effortlessly chic, and I say AMEN to that! Her collection absolutely wowed me and of course I had to get my hands on a few of them;) So here is my way of bringing Paris to DC:) A Sunday brunch at french bistro Le Diplomate, wearing my Wai Ming Ilana top, sipping a café au lait and reading my ” Paris Street Style” book, and of course all of this with the love of my life!
