Fall. The season that every fashionista waits for, the season for all things pumpkin spice and most importantly, the best season for cozying up. The only hard part about fall is that it’s completely different from summer, meaning you need a new look for it. It’s not logical, or affordable (although we wish it were) to buy all new interior pieces just for the changing seasons. That’s why this Sleepy Sunday post is all about how to easily transition into fall with colors and small details. Your fall interior design space is a lot like your fall wardrobe, it easily transitions through the use of color change and adding warmer, chunkier pieces. The best way to take a piece and turn it into a fall, cuddling oasis, is to add earth tone pillows and a big throw. Many of the Pins below show rust and earth toned pillows mixed into the interior design. Try getting a few of these fall color pillows at World Market, or one of these faux- fur pillows from Pottery Barn (on sale). As a lover of snuggles and scary movies, what is really catching my eye about these pins are all of the cozy blankets draped everywhere. Add a fall touch with this plaid throw from Kohls, or if coziness is your top priority, splurge on this Barefoot Dreams ® earth tone blanket from Nordstrom. What’s great about using pillows and blankets (keeping in mind fall colors!) to change up your seasonal design is that they are easily stored. Check out this amazing wicker trunk basket from Crate&Barrel. Not only is it convenient to store all your blankets and warm pillows, but it’s an amazing living room piece. We hope these tidbits and inspo pictures help you transform your design space into your perfect fall spot! To see more of where we get our inspiration follow GGG on Pinterest. We hope you are loving these Sleepy Sunday posts as much as we are! XO
I just like most of you love planning some (if not most) of our weekends around brunch! So naturally when I was invited to try out Zaytinya‘s new brunch, I was more than excited. Zaytinya is one of the first restaurants my husband took me to, back when we were dating and I was visiting him from Barcelona! I loved their food the first time I tried it and still do until today, because I am also a big fan of Jose Andres and his restaurants in DC. So to try out the brunch we invited our friends and their kids, so it was four of us adults and three kids, and everything went absolutely smoothly. For those of you who have kids, you know that not every restaurant is kid friendly, but Zaytinya is, and they have quite a selection of delicious kids plates which made it easier for us. They started by serving us their fresh and warm pita bread (which Shirel couldnt stop munching on), with their different spreads, for an Israeli like me once you bring out the pita and hummus you have won my heart:) From there on the feast began with delicously fried eggplants, to seared salmon that literally melted in my mouth like butter, a falafel salad (I never say no to falafel) and shish taouk grilled chicken with veggies which was tasty to perfection! The food isn’t the only magical element to Zaytinya, the space itself is magical with an amazing high ceiling, with huge windows and a natural light that instantly changes your mood, add to that the design elements and you have the perfect atmosphere to spend a Sunday brunch with your friends and family!
If you have gone shopping lately, or seen any New York Fashion Week looks, then you know that green is a major color for the fall season. Not only does green look great on the runway (and it’s my favorite color), but it’s an amazing accent color for your interior design. The color green has been used to symbolize many things, power, money, jealousy, nature and more. It’s a striking color, a color that is eye catching, and when designed right, can add so much style to a room. What is great about using green as an accent color is that there are so many shades of green that create different moods and add creativity to your design. We love the mint green bathroom back splash seen below. Not does this create an unforgettable look, but the mint green generates a calming atmosphere. Another way to create a green accent is plants, yes plants! As crazy as it is, cactuses, succulents and all things nature are a trend right now. Check out these terrariums from Urban Outfitters that would create your perfect nest for all things green. You can provide a sense of calm and the perfect plant oasis with the color green, but you can also make a space dramatic and glamorous with just one green piece. Many of the pins below showcase dark green or emerald couches, chairs or pillows. These key pieces are not only the perfect accents, but give the room so much flair. If these pins are making you envious, you should be looking at this emerald chaise lounge from One Kings Lane, and this velvet chair from Target. For a more subtle touch this Fiddle Leaf Branch from West Elm, is a a great way to add that green detail in your bedroom or living room. This Fall H&M Home has really outdone themselves, and they have a whole Green collection, where you can find pieces like this Velvet pillow cover or a more fun version like this Jacquard-weave pillow cover, for the bed this Duvet cover set with a fun leafy print, and this green moss knit blanket! Take a look below at all of these inspiring pins, they will leave you green with envy 😉 To see more Home inspiration and interior design heaven, follow GGG on Pinterest and you will find everything on the Gorgeous Interiors Board! Happy Sunday!
A weekend getaway always sounds like the perfect plan for any given weekend to me! Which is why I was absolutely thrilled when the Lansdowne Resort and Spa invited me to experience their newly renovated bedroom(s), and all the fun activities they have going on, like 3 pools, Golf, vineyards (though we couldn’t enjoy these since we we were with Shirel) but we enjoyed every minute at the pool with delicious food and cocktails as you can imagine.. The funny thing was, the moment we arrived at the entrance Jeff realized that we had been here for our friends wedding, this was the first time I ever visited the US and DC, I was 24 and I arrived two days before the wedding weekend! And we had amazing memories there, and we were ready to create new unforgetable memories with Shirel. So the moment we entered in our beautifully redesigned room, we made ourselves coffee, changed into our bathing suits, I of course unpacked (can’t have clothes not hanging for too long hehe), and we headed to the pool with Shirel and the countless water toys Jeff decided to get her that morning at Target. Though there was an adult pool that looked so peaceful and fun, there were two kids/family pools just as cool as the adult ones. We found the perfect corner half shade half sun, and we started spraying sunscreen on Shirel and ourselves, I of course told Jeff to take her to play in the water, and I proceeded to my relax time under the sun (I so needed some vitamin D, as I had been hiding from the sun and heat all summer).
We were welcomed with delicious food, and cocktails in a bucket, which I found perfect for the occasion, even though I knew there was no way I could drink even half of it, I did get buzzed which was just what I needed to start my relax weekend! The day just flew by with going in and out of the pool, sipping on the bucket, and running after Shirel, so we packed up showered and headed to the Leesburg Outlets my hubby’s favorite hangout spot, because of their Nike store. Any time we go there I know we need a few good hours, luckily this time he was quick and we found kicks for Shirel, and a few work out goodies for me, and headed back to have dinner at the hotel. Saturday started with a delicious breakfast and beautiful views, and of course we hit the pool again since we had to leave the hotel and head back to DC for an early farewell dinner for one of our friends moving to the West Coast. As you can imagine it was just the same fabulously relaxing time as Friday:) We loved everything about the hotel, not only was the room delightful with amazing views, but the service in the hotel was impecable, everyone was so friendly everything was so clean, and they have so much to offer to families, young couples or just about anyone who is looking to have a relaxing vacation! We were so happy with our stay we wanted to come back the weekend after, but it was a little complicated since it was Labor Day weekend, and also my last weekend in DC before heading back to Barcelona, so I had a lot of people to see and loads to pack. But we will definitely be back at Lansdowne Resort and Spa as soon as we can, especially because I didn’t get to try out their Spa, and I have heard that’s a MUST:)
Lots of new and exciting things are happening here at GoodGood Gorgeous! For one, Haya has introduced a few new blog contributors. One of them being myself…. Hello GGG readers, I’m Sammi! A Frederick, Maryland native, West Virginia University alumna, lover of fashion, food (specifically tacos) and new places. I will be showing up on here once in a while, especially on Sundays. I say especially on Sundays, because you are now reading the first of many Sleepy Sunday posts, hope you enjoy! xx
Sundays are for sleeping in, breakfast in bed, catching up on all of your shows, social media and indulging in all of your guilty pleasures. This mindset has led us to creating the Sleepy Sunday posts. A post you can look toward to every week and scroll through while you lounge away. Sleepy Sunday’s will be centered around one of Haya’s passion, interior design. Every week we will pull six pins we love from the GoodGood Gorgeous Pinterest (GGG is a Pinterest you most definitely want to be following!!) and discuss why we love them so much. Our first Sleepy Sunday is dedicated to our favorite place to spend the day……our bed. In a world full of hustle and bustle, the best thing to come home to is a calm and simple environment. That is why we are loving the look of an all-white bed spread and duvet covers, it is as if you are sleeping on a cloud. We love this look for many, many reasons. One of the biggest advantages of a white bed spread or duvet is that it allows you to be more flexible in other design aspects. Many of the pins below show a white bed spread with a crazy, eye-catching interior piece behind the bed. We think a large mirror like this one from Anthropologie would be perfect to hang above a white spread. A more affordable option being this sun burst mirror from Target. Another amazing thing about white is our favorite P word…Pillows! The all white bedspread design lets you get as crazy as you want with your throw pillows. We love these fun and fuzzy pillow covers from West Elm. Keeping your bed basic and minimalistic as possible isn’t a bad thing either. An all -white bed, with simple décor is nothing but inviting after a long day. This white top stitch duvet at Room&Board, and white linen duvet at H&M home has us wanting to take a nap in them right now. Take a look at our favorite all white pins for more inspo and purchasing options…
