I am getting ready for my Birthday/Baby Moon romantic Miami getaway with my hubby, and the first thing that comes to mind is Beauty Essentials! I love packing with a plan, it all starts in my head, I mentally prepare my looks, as well as my beauty products, and pack accordingly which always works for me. This way I rarely overpack, don’t forget anything I truly need, and can relax while enjoying the sun (though it seems it’s gonna be a stormy weekend, boohoo). Here are some of my favourite beauty essentials when I travel, what’s my criteria? Must keep my skin hydrated, don’t wanna wash my hair too often (I’m a believer of not washing your hair on a daliy basis, that will be covered on another post), rested/fresh eyes!
I hope all of you have had a fantastic Memorial Day weekend! I know I always enjoy when it’s a long weekend and I get to spend it with my hubby, family and friends! We decided to tag along with our friends Annapolis trip, any chance I have to go there I take it, it’s such a wonderful city, right by the bay, with tons of outdoor activities, and charming little cafés and restaurants. We ended up going to Blackwall Hills for a delicious lunch on their beautifully designed rooftop (where I fell in love with their black & white umbrellas), this restaurant is just stunning, every little detail, if any of you are planning a trip to Annapolis you must go there! Hope you like this easy/breezy look I put together, with this pregnancy all I’ve been wearing are dresses, and this Necessary Clothing maxi dress is one of my favorites!
I can’t believe how time flies, I woke up this morning and realized it’s the end of May and I’m 21 weeks, which means (amongst many other things) that in a few days I turn a year older (31), and this year (age) will be forever magical in my heart, with our little one on the way:) But it also means that I have ALL summer ahead of me as a pregnant lady, in other words, HEAT, HUMIDITY, water retention, swollen ankles, you know the usual (help), so I am walking as much as I can, drinking loads of water, eating tons of fruits, and trying to refrain from salty foods (though that one is very challenging)! Another way to prepare for this heat is of course to wear comfy and cute clothes, and I have officially become obsessed with dresses, nothing more comfy for me and my belly at the moment…So I leave you with this printed and colorful Asos dress, and jewelry (necklaces) by Rachelle Celine, and Crystal Ladder ring by Bauble Bar… AND tune in for the Hair tutorial for this easy, breezy and fun updo by Abigail de Casanova;) Hope you enjoy this look…
It’s been a while since I shared a “Hair Tutorial”, but my friend (and hair & make up artist) Abigail and I have decided to once again join forces (my hair, and her talent) and share with all of you how to get beautiful, fun, summer hair looks! Oh and we will also be sharing “Make Up tutorials” so stay tuned for those! We would like to bring you different ones on a weekly basis, so you have new ideas and ways to style your hair, and beautify yourself with make up tips! Feel free to ask for whatever tutorials you would like to see, if there is a specific hair style you’ve been dying to try but don’t know how to do it, just leave your comments, and we will try to make it happen;)! Hope you enjoy this Messy Pony Tail look, and let me know how it worked out for you…
What you need:
5 Simple Steps to the Messy Pony Tail style: My First trick & tip, is do not wash your hair beforehand, you want your hair to be not that clean, but also not super greasy, and even better if it is not brushed to get more of a messy effect!
STEP 1: Prep your hair with shine I love this new Toni & Guy Shine that we used on my hair, and spray your hair with Sebastian Shaper plus or any other working hair spray.
STEP 2: Part the hair in 5 parts. Create a rectangular part on top which will separate the front (bangs), the sides and back.
STEP 3: Grab the back part and make it into a ponytail, if you’d like you can take some of the hair on top of the back part and tease it to create extra volume.
STEP 4: Tease the top rectangular part by grabbing horizontal half inch parts each time, comb it back softly. On the sides, do the same.
STEP 5: Grab the hair on the back part and wrap it around the ponytail and pin it. Grab hair on each on the sides and also pin it around the ponytail.
VOILA! The key for this hairstyle is to be very free with it, and let it be messy!
This weekend was filled with sunshine, long walks, quality time with friends/family, and a beautiful dinner Sunday evening with my hubby! For this Sunday dinner date, I decided to wear my new Asos Maternity tube skirt, finally a tube skirt I can wear comfortably in this pregnancy and I absolutely love how tightly it wraps around my hips (basically squeezing everything in hehe)!
To give it a little edge I styled it with red accents, and my new Rachelle Celine stack of rings! I am in love with this local designer’s jewelry, her pieces are timeless, romantic, and subtle, the perfect elements to add the final touch to any look you put together… Dinner was filled with talks about the future, and when the baby arrives, fantasy trips we might or might not take together, but most importantly how exciting (and a bit terrifying) our near future is:)!
